Graced To The Nations is a faith-based ministry born from the heart of CityGates Ministries. We carry a divine mandate to saturate the world with the transformative love and life-changing truth of Jesus Christ.

We are a Christ-centered and Spirit-led community, passionate about seeing lives transformed and hearts restored through the power of the Gospel. Rooted in God’s grace, we seek to equip, empower, and send believers to shine His light in every nation and every sphere of life.

Our heart beats for mission work, taking the message of hope to schools, hospitals, prisons, refugee setting and extending the love of Christ from our local communities to the nations. We believe that every act of service, no matter how small, is a reflection of God’s heart for His people. We stand on Matthew 28:19–20. And also embrace the promise of Acts 13:47. As Graced to the Nations, our mission is simple yet powerful, to know Christ deeply, love others boldly, and make His grace known globally.

We are also a people on mission anchored in the command of Jesus in Matthew 25:34-40. Therefore our desire is to be the hands and feet of Jesus, to go where others will not go, to love those the world has left behind, and to shine light in places where hope seems dim. We are not just a movement rather we are a ministry graced to the nations, committed to transforming lives through the power of Christ, serving with humility, and giving with joy. As we serve, we hold to Colossians 3:23. Because every mission, every act of kindness or giving, and every word of hope is for His glory and the advancement of His Kingdom. Our hearts and doors remain open to everyone. We work alongside and serve people of all faiths, backgrounds, and walks of life without discrimination, reflecting the unconditional love and grace of Christ to all.

Our Impact to the Community.

Justice

The Problem: Prisons are often places of isolation and spiritual despair, where rehabilitation is difficult without external support.

The Impact: Through our fellowship programs and essential care packages (hygiene kits and meals), we are reducing the return rate. We offer prisoners a “new identity” in Christ, preparing them to return to their communities as reformed, productive citizens.

Child Eduction

The Problem: A lack of mentorship and basic school supplies often leads to high dropout rates in Kampala and surrounding regions.

The Impact: Our programs bridge the gap between education and character. We are seeing students stay in school longer, know christ as well as improve their grades, and develop the confidence to pursue professional careers.

Refugee Support

The Problem: Uganda hosts one of the largest refugee populations in the world. Families arriving from conflict zones often lack the basic “starter kits” needed to maintain dignity and health in transit centers.

The Impact: Providing “Dignity Packs” containing clean water, soap, bedding, solar lamps, clothes, and shoes. By meeting these immediate needs, we reduce the spread of disease and provide a sense of safety to people during their most traumatic moments. We also use this moment to share the love of christ to them. We don’t just see “refugees”; we see neighbors in need of a warm welcome.

Healthcare

The Problem: Many families in pediatric wards cannot afford the basic nutrition required for their patients to recover from illness.

The Impact: By providing high-protein meals and medical supplements, recovery times shorten and mortality rates drop. We don’t just visit rather we pray for healing and as well provide the physical sustenance that allows medicine to work.

Economic Sustainability

The Goal: Moving from dependency to dignity.

The Impact: By establishing a community-based poultry, we are creating a “living endowment.” This project will Generate Income which Funds are for future missions without relying 100% on donations. Create Jobs by employing local community members in agricultural roles. Teach Skills by providing livestock management training to youth and families, giving them a trade for life.

Spiritual Leadership

The Problem: In many struggling regions, there is a “leadership vacuum” where young men and women lack positive & Christ like role models, leading to increased community tension and crime.

The Impact: Our community outreach goes beyond the physical. We are to conduct leadership workshops and spiritual counseling that emphasize reconciliation and integrity. By raising up “Community Timothys’,” we are creating a network of local leaders who resolve conflicts peacefully and advocate for the vulnerable. We are building a culture of peace that starts in the heart and spreads to the street with christ at the center of it all.

Practical Skills

The Problem: Refugees and migrants particularly those arriving from Ethiopia, Somalia, Eritrea, Sudan, and Congo alongside vulnerable local youth in Makindye Division face persistent poverty, formal employment barriers, and exclusion from the local economy. Without market-relevant vocational skills or financial resources, displaced families risk remaining trapped in long-term dependency on charity.

The Impact: To equip youth with hands-on vocational training such as sewing, hairdressing, and bricklaying alongside modern digital skills and social media services. By connecting these skills to social enterprise models like small-scale poultry farming, we enable young people from both host and refugee communities to launch self-sustaining initiatives and achieve true financial independence.

Rights & Protection

The Problem: Navigating a new country without local language fluency leaves urban refugees from Ethiopia, Somalia, Eritrea, Sudan, and Congo isolated, unable to advocate for themselves, and exceptionally vulnerable to exploitation. Undocumented individuals face constant legal risks, harassment, and severe challenges when trying to access basic social systems, medical services, or legal protection.

The Impact: To Host free English language classes to break down daily communication barriers, allowing migrants and refugees to secure employment, access public services, and advocate for their needs. Alongside language instruction, we partner with legal aid networks to deliver essential human rights education, protecting vulnerable and undocumented community members from systemic abuse and exploitation.

Peace Building

The Problem: Displaced families fleeing conflict in Ethiopia, Somalia, Eritrea, Sudan, and Congo carry deep physical and psychological trauma. When these traumatic experiences are compounded by local prejudice, cultural misunderstandings, and social isolation within crowded urban settlements, local community tensions escalate and critical mental health needs go untreated.

The Impact: To bring refugee youth and local Ugandan residents together through joint sports teams, community fellowships, cleanup days, and cultural dialogues with local leaders to dismantle prejudice, foster trust, and resolve local conflicts. To ensure lasting emotional recovery, we operate a dedicated healing clinic offering trauma recovery services and holistic healthcare, helping survivors heal from war and displacement so they can actively re-engage in community life.

The Crisis of Potential in Urban Kampala (Makindye)

Uganda has one of the youngest populations in the world. More than 75% of the people are under 35 years old. This could be a great thing, but cities like Kampala where Makindye lies do not have enough jobs for everyone.

It includes crowded, low-income slums like Kibuye, Katwe, Namuwongo, and Kisugu, as well as busy nightlife hubs like Kansanga, Kabalagala, and Ggaba.

There are over 587,000 youths aged 18 to 35 living in Kampala, and many of them live in Makindye. This includes both local Ugandans and thousands of young refugees who left rural camps like Nakivale refugee camp for greener pastures in the city. (Somalis, Congolese, Eritreans, Ethiopians, & South Sudanese)

Many young refugees leave settlement camps like Nakivale in Western Uganda because of extreme poverty and a lack of jobs. In those camps, nearly 70% of refugees live on less than 2,000 UGX a day, and only 26% of young people can find any work.

Data shows that young people aged 18 to 35 are the largest group (30%) leaving these camps, and Kampala is their top destination. Refugee statistics show that Makindye Division is the number one neighborhood where refugees from camps like Nakivale choose to live. They arrive hoping to find jobs, start small businesses, and build a real future. Because of this, the youth population is divided, and young people face several serious risks like:

a) Economic Idleness which contributes many school dropouts and unemployed graduates to get stuck in a “survival mode,” leading to a high risk of petty crime, gambling addictions, and risky sexual behavior to get money.
b) Substance Abuse where easy access to cheap alcohol and drugs in the nightlife areas of Kabalagala and Kansanga has caused a hidden epidemic of addiction and untreated mental trauma.
c) Political and Social Exploitation because they are desperate for money, urban youth are often used as tools for political purposes during elections, only to be forgotten once the elections are over.
d) Loss of Identity as a culture focused on money and the internet is breaking down traditional morals, leaving young people feeling spiritually empty, lonely, and without a clear sense of right and wrong.

e) The rapid increase of immigrants (Ethiopians, Eritreans, Somalis, Congolese, Sudanese) into Makindye creates intense job competition, poverty, and severe stress, driving both local and migrant youth to use alcohol and drugs as a way to cope with trauma and hopelessness.

Youth Empowerment

To Empower Youths in our community Arrows of Destiny Makindye Youth Ministry (AOD) was structured to raise, disciple, equip, and release young people across Makindye Division to fulfill their God-given destiny. We are committed to building a generation that knows God, walks in holiness, serves their communities, and advances the Kingdom of God.

We believe that every youth possesses a divine purpose. God is calling this generation to be sharpened as arrows in His hand prepared, directed, and launched to impact families, schools, hospitals, prisons, churches, and nations for His glory.

As a grassroots youth movement operating under the National Fellowship of Born Again Pentecostal Churches of Uganda (NFBPCU), AOD serves as a unifying bridge across all five fraternities in Makindye Division:

  • MOCUF (Makindye Open Church Fellowship)
  • MEPI (Makindye East Pastors Initiative)
  • BUMU (Makindye BUMU Pastors Fellowship)
  • MAFEPU (Makindye Fellowship )
  • KANSUFE (Makindye Fellowship)

The process of Destiny

“In the shadow of His hand He hid me” — Season of Preparation. Before an arrow is ever shot, it is kept safe and hidden in the warrior’s quiver. This represents the time God spends rescuing, rehabilitating, and discipling youths out of the chaos of the streets. God hides us in His hand to heal our heart, protect their life, and build their character through mental health support and spiritual growth. During this time youth are not rejected rather they are just in preparation.

“He made me into a polished arrow” — Process of Sharpening. A raw piece of wood cannot fly straight, it has to be cut, smoothed, and polished. God wants to “raise and sharpen” our youths. Through the Kingdom Business/Marketplace Academy, modern trade training, and leadership courses, He is taking their raw potential which was hidden by the enemy and polishing them into an excellent, skillful, and ethical leader.

“Concealed me in His quiver” — Perfect Divine Timing. An arrow stays inside the quiver until the exact moment the warrior needs it. This means our youths do not have to rush or copy the world. Even when things seem to move slowly, God is holding their vision safe. In His perfect timing, He will open the quiver and release them as  young leaders equipped to make a real difference on the ground.

“Sent for his purpose” —The Release. Being an arrow means they were never created to stay inside the quiver forever. A quiver is a safe place of protection and training, but the ultimate destiny of an arrow is to be released, fly fast, and strike a target.

The Growth Plan

Pillar 1 –Favor With God (Spiritual Growth)

The main goal is to help youths move from just sitting in church to actively following Jesus and become leaders. Lets look at the implementation strategies;

1. The ‘City groups’ Network

  • Monthly Meetings (By Fraternity). Youth from each fraternity will meet once a month for prayer, worship, and spiritual growth. To keep churches connected, these meetings will rotate among different churches in the same fraternity.
  • Quarterly Meetings (District-Wide). Every three months, all five fraternities will come together for a large district gathering to worship, connect, and build unity. Locations will be decided and shared before each event.

2. Leadership Development Program

  • Hands-on Leadership where Spiritually mature youth from each fraternity will be selected to lead devotions and preach during regular sessions.
  • This provides a practical environment to identify, train, and raise up the next generation of church leaders.

3. Inter-Fraternity Exchange Program

  • Cross-Ministry Exposure as the program matures, growing youth leaders will visit and preach at churches in other fraternities.
  • This exchange broadens their ministry experience, strengthens connections across churches, and sharpens their spiritual gifts.

4. The ‘Unfiltered’ Forum (Real Talk)

  • Safe, Anonymous Q&A. During designated monthly meetings, youth can submit anonymous written questions about difficult topics, including poverty, relationships, church hurt, and mental health.
  • Sessions will focus on honest, non-judgmental discussions to provide biblical guidance and practical healing.

5. Mentorship Program (Running Partners)

  • The ministry will recruit a roster of Christian adult professionals to serve as mentors.
  • Each mentor will be paired with three youth for a 6-month mentorship cycle.
  • Mentors will meet regularly with their group to build personal character, offer spiritual encouragement, and guide career growth.

Pillar 4 –Favor With Man

The main goal is to equip equip youth with ethical leadership skills, foster active civic participation, and position youth including vulnerable host families, migrants, and refugees as positive, productive community leaders who influence local development and policy.

1. The Leadership Academy

  • Regular workshops for youth leaders, students, and young professionals covering public speaking, project management, and biblical leadership principles.
  • Global Exposure by building partnerships with international organizations to establish youth exchange programs, broadening horizons and leadership perspectives.

2. Migrant, Refugee & Basic Rights Support

  • Free English Language Classes accessible, practical language trainings to break daily communication barriers, helping migrants and refugees secure employment, navigate public services, and integrate smoothly into the community.
  • Rights Education & Legal Protection through Collaborative partnerships with legal aid networks to teach essential human rights and protect vulnerable, undocumented community members from abuse and exploitation.

3. Community Service & Public Action

  • Youth-Led Cleanups including clearing blocked drainage channels, cleaning local market areas, and neighborhood maintenance.
  • Public Health Drives by organizing division-wide voluntary blood donation drives and public health outreach activities in collaboration with health authorities.
  • Demonstrating positive civic responsibility to challenge and eliminate negative stereotypes about local youth.

4. Civic Advocacy & Local Representation

  • Establishing formal lines of communication with local government officials, division leadership, and church leaders.
  • Ensuring youth are included in local planning and decision-making processes, protecting them from political exploitation while giving them a genuine voice in community affairs.

Pillar 2 -Stature (Jobs, Skills Empowerment)

The Main goal is to break the cycle of poverty across the division by equipping youth with practical, vocational, modern market skills to help them secure employment, launch sustainable businesses, and achieve financial independence.

1. Marketplace Academy (Kingdom Business Initiative)

The ministry will offer practical short courses across key industry and vocational tracks:

  • Digital Tech. Practical training in basic graphic design, video editing, and simple website development.
  • Modern Trades & Vocational Skills. Hands-on technical and vocational training in smartphone repair, sewing and fashion tailoring, hairdressing, bricklaying, commercial baking, and solar power installation.
  • Kingdom Business & Agribusiness. Operation of a division-wide 5,000-layer poultry project to teach farm management, personal budgeting, business branding, basic marketing, and introductory digital asset markets (e.g., Forex and crypto trading).
  • Clean-Tech Services. Mobilizing youth groups to offer professional sanitation and compound landscaping services to local offices and residences.
  • Quarterly Business Forum. A quarterly platform where young entrepreneurs pitch their business plans to a panel of experienced Christian business leaders for evaluation and feedback.

Pillar 3- Wisdom (Mental Health & Creativity)

The main goal is to provide holistic care for youth by addressing mental health challenges, recovering from trauma and addiction, and redirecting creative and physical talents toward constructive community impact.

1. The Healing Clinic (Counseling & Care)

  • A dedicated, safe space offering confidential counseling and support groups led by qualified Christian counselors.
  • Specialized support for youth struggling with drug addiction, depression, behavioral compulsions, and community-based trauma.
  • Recruitment and mobilization of trained counselors and mental health advocates across participating churches.

2. The Creative Hub (Talent & Media Development)

  • A creative space serving as a healthy alternative to high-risk social environments.
  • Events & Showcases by running regular festivals featuring gospel music, spoken word poetry, and creative dance.
  • Hands-on training in digital photography, videography, audio production, and podcast creation.

3. Community Sports League (Outreach & Life Skills)

  • Tournament Outreach where free community football and basketball tournaments organized across the division to engage local youth and migrants.
  • Halftime Life-Skills Sessions with Mandatory 15-minute interactive talks held during halftime or after matches.
  • Core Topics with Open discussions providing biblical perspectives and practical guidance on relationships, addiction prevention, sexual purity, and personal decision-making.

Youths are equipped what next?

Youths become Weapons of Blessing.

When a warrior shoots an arrow, he aims it at a specific target. God does not launch youths blindly. He sends us into very specific places where people are hurting like schools, prisons, hospitals, and refugee settlements. Youths are sent to strike down poverty, hopelessness, and brokenness with the love of Jesus.

They are Propelled by Holy Spirit Power.

An arrow doesn’t fly on its own power rather  it flies because of the strength of the warrior who pulls back the bow. They do not have to rely on their own strength, their background, or their  pocket. BUT the Holy Spirit is the one pushing us forward, giving us the boldness and power to make a massive impact.

They Overcome Every Barrier.

A polished arrow(youth) is designed to cut through the wind and overcome resistance. Because God has sharpened their character and their practical skills, they will be able to break through the barriers of poverty, unemployment, and discrimination. Wherever they are sent, they will stand out because they do fly straight and true.

Lastly they Leave a Lasting Legacy.

The goal of an arrow is to make an impact right where it lands. By stepping boldly into their divine calling, they aren’t just changing their own lives along  BUT also they are setting a brand new standard for their families and the entire neighborhood, changing their generation, & the nations forever.

Our Mission

Our mandate is to reach the marginalized to extend the love, compassion, and hope of Jesus Christ to those often forgotten or overlooked. We believe that as followers of Christ, we are called to excel in every area of grace mainly in faith, in knowledge, in earnestness, in love, and in the grace of giving. (2 Corinthians 8:7). We believe that true generosity flows from the heart, and it is also expressed through our time, service, and presence in the lives of others.

Our Cause

We have seen it firsthand; Patients in hospitals suffering from malnutrition. Prisoners forgotten, hungry, and without hope. un employment, Students struggling silently with no guidance or encouragement. Children left out by their parents and now under a care that has to feed them daily, cloth them and take them to school. We are already doing this work but we are limited. Right now, much of this mission is funded personally, and we cannot reach as far as we are called too.

Wall of Prayer -Lets Build Capacity In Prayer.

We are looking for 1000 People to Join our Prayer Shield. Financial seeds are the ‘fuel’ for our mission, but prayer is the ‘foundation.’

The Prisoners: Pray that the hearts of those we visit in prison will be softened and that they find true restoration and hope in Christ.

The Patients: Pray for healing for the Patients in the malnutrition and pediatric wards, and for strength for the medical staff.

The Students: Pray for the students in our empowerment & mentorship programs to find clear direction, purpose, and the resources they need to stay in school.

The Poultry Project: Pray for the wisdom and health of our livestock, that this project would truly become a “well” that never runs dry for the community.

The Community: Pray for those struggling with the “invisible” stings of trauma, anxiety, or addiction within the community, that they would find a supportive network and spiritual peace. Pray for the healing of broken homes and that fathers and mothers would be empowered to lead their families with love and provision. Pray for Provision that the cycle of poverty would be broken through sustainable work. Pray for Unity that we would stand together to protect our most vulnerable.
