Forgive them even when they are not sorry and pray for them.

Mark 11:25-26 NKJV

"And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. [26] But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses."

Forgiveness is not something easy to choose but by the grace that Christ imputes on us we do forgive. Christ went through persecution and still chose forgiveness. And therefore we are all called to walk like Christ by forgiving others.

To forgive is to set yourself free from the chain of unforgiveness. It is not an easy step therefore we should ought to ask the holy spirit to give us the grace of forgiveness and then we will be able to forgive and heal completely.

Forgiveness is consenting to live with the results of someone else's wrongdoing. It is so costly, we address the cost of the wrongdoing by forgiving. However you're going to live with those results regardless of whether you need to; your main decision is whether you will live in the harshness of unforgiveness or the opportunity of forgiveness. That is the manner by which Jesus pardoned you — He faced the results of your wrongdoing upon Himself. All obvious forgiveness is substitutional; because no one truly forgives unless they bear the consequences of the other person's wrongdoing. Having mercy on those who have harmed us is what it means to forgive.
