In the quiet outskirts of Gaba, away from the busy city center, lies a place where hope is being rebuilt, brick by brick and heart by heart. This is Merciful Hearts Africa a sanctuary that Graced To The Nations reached and is honored to support, a home to approximately 70 incredible children.
A Home Beyond Walls
Merciful Hearts Africa is more than just an orphanage rather it is a specialized ecosystem of care. Under the dedicated leadership of Brother Kizza, a tireless team of few individuals works around the clock to ensure that these 70 children aren’t just surviving, but thriving.
For many of these children, the story began in brokenness and loss of parents. Some come from families led by struggling single mothers who were once overwhelmed by the crushing weight of poverty. In the past, the “sting” of daily life meant these mothers lived in constant anxiety: Will my child eat today? Will they have clothes? Will they ever see the inside of a classroom?
Today, because of the work of Brother Kizza’s team and the support of our global partners, some of those questions have been answered. These mothers now have the peace of mind knowing their children are fed, clothed, and yet to be educated. The burden has been lifted, replaced by the dignity of seeing their children flourish.
From Gaba to CityGates: A Sunday Transformation
The most beautiful part of this journey isn’t just the physical provision but as well it is the spiritual awakening.
Every Sunday, a vibrant transformation takes place. The children of Merciful Hearts Africa leave the outskirts of Gaba by a taxi and travel to CityGates Church. What started as an outreach mission has turned into a spiritual homecoming. Seeing these 70 young lives filling the hall, raising their hands in worship, and diving into the truth of the Word is a powerful testament to our divine mandate.
They are no longer “orphans” in spirit; they are sons and daughters of the King, deeply integrated into our church family.
